As it's now into the Autumn months I figure it's time for a more seasonally suited Carrie Files. This is from Carrie's "Dark period" of the movie.

The simplicity of this outfit is that most people have a pair of leggings in their wardrobes, they also have a white vest.

To Linkara: If you ever see this, I'm so sorry for the picture I used, not the best! I did this because I admire you, and you make me laugh. You've also made me want to read comic books.



Linkara, is a comic book reviewer on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses and not who most people would deem a fashion icon. Though when you actually look at what he's wearing, I can guarantee that someone famous is wearing something similar.

I also wanted to see if I could do this.

Silk Spectre II

Just because she kicks so much ass in Watchmen, also a nod to her mother. Well I say she kicks ass, she has sex with a glowing blue guy, she's adventurous. She does contribute to the story line though. Honestly, I think she's here due to the fact se wears a yellow costume, and I really love that costume.

Now here's a girl who really does kick ass. I'm in awe of here, really, I just love her. I don't know how better I can explain it, though I really love purple...I guess that'll do.

Rouge

My favourite character in X-Men. She's strong and confident, sexy too. I used to love her & Gambit's flirting in the animated series which I grew up with. As I grew up I even loved her in X-Men Evolutions, and the portrayal of her in the movies, though I'm pissed off at her becasue of the ending to the 3rd movie, but things are looking up!
Rogue is a charater in X-Men by Stan Lee.

Carrie Bradshaw

Considering my blog this one isn't that surpising. In my opinion she's funny and has great fashion taste. Plus, she's a writer, so I guess I have someone to aspire to be, I just haven't written about sex, yet. Hey maybe I'd get more readers! Seriously though, I do love Carrie and I'm unashamed in that fact. Sure I want her life... and shoe collection. Though she does annoy me at times, but more in the books than the TV show.
For those who don't know, Carrie is the lead character in Sex and the City by Candace Bushell.

Chell

Without saying a word, Chell is one of the strongest female characters you will ever meet. Hell, she defeats 2 different crazy robots in 3 different senarios. I don't know how better to portray Chell, but hell, she's amazing. She looks good in orange too.

Joanne Baldwin

Joanne is a recent addition to my list, as I first discovered her at the beginning of the year. I love the Weather Warden books, and Joanne is simply a brilliant character. She's strong, sexy, stubborn, funny and powerful.

Eowyn

How can you not love Eowyn? She was told to stay behind by her brother and uncle, so she dresses up as a man, takes Merry (who was also told to stay behind) and joins them in the Battle of Pelennor Fields. Not only that, but when the Witch King of Angmar kills her uncle, King Theoden, she battles him, one on one, and has this epic moment, and I'll abbreviate it for you:

Witch King: No man can kill me.

Eowyn: *takes off helmet* I am no man. *stabs him in his face and kills him*

Eowyn is a character in The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Lara Croft

Ah, my Lady! I was always so in awe of her growing up. Again, strong, sexy, but she was smart and has the love of ancient cultures like I do. Hell, she went up against a T-Rex, can your hero say that? That body too, well more realistic these days, though I empathise her backpain. I don't know how better to descibe her, I don't think I'd do justice in these few lines.
Lara Croft is the main character in Tomb Raider by Eidos.

Hermione Jean Granger

The Harry Potter books practically shaped my childhood/teenage years and now my adult life. As one of the 'smart girls' Hermione was my ultimate heroine, someone I could look up to and admire, not only that but I related to her too. Growing up, I had the bushy hair and over large front teeth, her birthday is a week after mine and we both love reading.
Unlike the blank Bella Swan, Hermione didn't curl up into a ball when her love left, instead she channeled her emotions into vanquishing the Dark Lord Voldemort. Throughout the series she is strong and without her, Harry wouldn't be able to acomplish anything.
I could gush for hourse about Hermione, but I wont, the majority of you will know how awesome she is anyway, and if you dont, read the books.
Hermione is the main female character in the Harry Potter books by J.K.Rowling.

I'm interested in your Top 10, hell, it might introduce to to new heroes.

Please note that most of my heros growing up, and now, are male, so maybe I should do that list.

Bag Books: On Beauty

On Beauty by Zadie Smith

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, as I didn't think I'd like it. I honestly bought it as part of a 2 for £5 offer (the other book being a present)and I only picked it up because the cover is so beautiful. I know, I know; 'Never judge a book by it's cover', but you have to agree, it's an awesome cover.

When I researched this book I found out that it seems to be a modern version of Howard's End, though as I've never read it I cannot make the comparison.

It follows the Belsey family, which has instantly recognisable charaters in it, you will know at least one of them in real life, through their rivalry with the Kipps's and their own family issues.

Like I said, I didn't think this story was for me, yet it really sucked me in, I pretty much fell in love with the strong character of Kiki, mother of the Belsey family.

There are some laugh out loud moments, and other times you want to weep.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I enjoyed the ending, which is more of a chapter ending than a story ending, so you know this family's story keeps on going.

Great book, worth a read.

Test Subject: The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisturisers

I've recently decided to change my moisturiser as I didn't think my Nivea one was right for me, I also thought it was time to invest in a night cream. I chose the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop because I trust them, with my skin and with my conscious.

The 'day' cream is a light creamy consistancy, which spreads really well. It makes my skin feel really soft. The night cream is a thicker consistancy, though still spreads well. I woke up with skin so soft it was incredible.

I'm usually apprehensive when trying new moisturisers, as my skin will definately show me if it disapproves in the way of a major, painful breakout, it didn't happen with these creams, huge sigh of relief from me!

The only thing I don't like is the fact the lid of the 'day' cream is black, surely it would have made much more sense for the night cream to have the dark lid?

They work really well and the pots are alot bigger than I imagined them to be. I reckon these will last me well past Christmas, which my wallet thanks.

As we're heading towards the part season I thought I'd share this quirky little outfit, I do love this. Though, only Carrie can pull off a bumbag.

Given the time of year I chose a full length top instead of a cropped one, though a simple alteration would change that.
As only Carrie can pull off a bumbag (shudders) I've chosen a small crossbody which is far cuter.

Thoughts on WWE

I've mentioned before that I am a wrestling fan, I watch Raw and Smackdown weekly and I even try to catch the PPVs, I'm not an expert on the subject though I am a fan.

I watched WWE Heat when I was about 10 years old, and I thought it was brilliant. My Nan would tape it for me on the Sunday night then I'd watch it after school on a Monday. When I say night, I mean the 1AM it'd air over here. That made it even more exciting.

I remember the episode of Heat before Wrestlemania, that was so enthralling! I was so happy that Christmas when my brother had bought me the tape of that Wrestlemaia, which I still have.

I guess I outgrew wrestling for a while, by while I mean years, practically my teenage years when make up, pink, clothes and Reese Witherspoon movies became my obsession.

I started getting back into it in 2009, when I was catching up on dvds with Craig, establishing a new favourite in The Miz and meeting him by the end of the year, not bad huh?

(I can see that I've fallen into the trap of starting each paragraph with 'I', ugh).

So now, I'm wondering why the WWE have a PPV every 2 weeks? Surely this isn't enough time to establish the great feuds that there used to be. They used to feel special, these must see PPV's, must see TV! Why not reduce the price if they're this frequent? pay the full price for the main 4. Hell, even Wrestlemania this year didn't seem like a special PPV in the storyline sense.
Mostly I was pissed off by the fact that The Corre's tag match was over in under 5minutes and that it was heel tactics on the face's side! Pissed me off! They completely booked it wrong too, and don't get me started on the Snooki match, ffs.

The Corre disbanded and Edge retired, Z!TLIS became super popular and now Zack's actually winning on Raw. Cena was champ again, so was Orton, predictable and boring if you ask me. Cena wasted 2 picks in the draft when they could've drafted talented guys, including Zack Ryder, who I was in the live chat with, poor bugger. Other things have happened, like Cody Rhodes's "mutilation" and Azure/Negro Sin Caras. None of the titles have seemed to matter, and Kelly Kelly's title reign is ridiculous, girl can't wrestle.

I will say that things are starting to look up at the present time, even if it's just a brief glimmer, it's there. Rhodes is a great IC champion, I love the Awesome Truth, the Tag Teams Titles seem to be being made more important, hell, the tag division is glimmering at the moment, it looks like they're rebuilding it, let's hope it shines. I can see good things for the lacking Divas Division if they keep the likes of Beth Phoenix/Natalya/Karma in the spotlight, women who can wrestle as opposed to the cookie cutter Barbie doll types. Just think Stupid Girls by Pink and that's the majority of the Divas roster.

At first the whole C.M. Punk angle was really exciting, so fresh and controversial! But now it's getting quite stale, the WWE definitely ran it well at first, but they didn't let it run long enough, his WWE absence I mean. He should've been away longer, made more appearances like ComiCon, more radio rants and youtube videos... like The Miz is currently doing. Even Cena was fired at one point, yet he managed to cause mayhem where he went.

And are we forgetting the Anonymous Raw General Manager? Where have they been for the past few months? Has their absence been explained and I've missed it?

Though there is the case of Randy Orton, who, on a PG show continued to attack and even busted open Rhodes, blood everywhere. To me, a blood thirsty 21 year old who finds Sid Viscious's leg break to be hilarious, that was too much. Yet the crowd loved it, raise the age rating already WWE, stop aiming at a small percentage of your viewing demographic.

This has turned out to be a long post, and I could go on, but for now I wont, perhaps I'll save it for another day. So, for now;
